Ellen & Josh celebrated their marriage on October 11th, 2025 surrounded by family and friends at the picturesque wedding venue, Heartland on Heritage, in Magnolia Ohio.

Heartland on Heritage is a photographer's dream thanks to its high vantage point of rolling farm hills that make you feel as though you were in a storybook. It also offers some really great outdoor backdrops of rolling hills, wide open fields, and cute farm animals.

 Getting Ready at Heartland on Heritage

Ellen & Josh got themselves and their children ready for the big day at Heartland on Heritage's convenient on-site dressing area. It was all laughs and smiles as the bride was surrounded by family that helped her to get ready to walk down the aisle. Josh as well had a warm community of friends and family there to help him look his best for his wedding day.

 

The Ceremony at Heartland on Heritage

The ceremony took place in the venue's canopied outdoor seating space which was positioned right near their farm of cute animals. Guests anxiously awaited the couple as they sat comfortably in two rows of vintage wooden pews. Ellen & Josh thoughtfully included their children into their wedding vows and the whole family came in for a big group hug - it was very touching!

 

Portraits at Heartland on Heritage - Best Photo Locations

One of the reasons we love photographing weddings at this venue is beautiful acreage and the romantic natural pond. It was a very easy space to get beautiful golden light photos as well.

 

Some of our favorite portrait spots from this wedding included:

  • The clear pond at the bottom of the hill near the entrance of the venue.

  • On top of the hill overlooking the farmland.

  • On the short path through the pine trees that lead you to the reception area.

The Reception Celebration

The reception space at Heartland Heritage was warm and intimate, but with enough space it could quickly become a lively dance floor. Ellen & Josh laughed hard as their friends and family gave heartfelt and humorous speeches about their memories with the couple. Everyone was dancing and having a blast on the dance floor by the time night fell.

A fun memory for us from Josh & Ellen's wedding was when the DJ opened up karaoke and guests could belt out popular love songs to each other.

Heartland on Heritage offered a very cozy, nostalgic, natural, Americana, venue that many people from Ohio can appreciate.
