Vendors

a. Hair
  • Bella Bronze Studios in Akron, Jacquelyn was my hair stylist.
b. Makeup
  • Bella Bronze Studios (again), Aileen did my makeup.
c. Dress
  • I got it online from the Azazie website. I did an at home try on, and they sent me 3 dresses I picked to try on. I ended up loving the one and didn't need to do any alterations.
d. Menswear
  • The groom's tux was rented from Men's Warehouse in North Olmsted.
e. Florist
  • Not sure if you can tell in the pictures but all the flowers were fake. My bouquet, the boutonnieres, and corsages were all from Amazon. The centerpieces were ordered from Etsy. I wanted to stick with classic white flowers in any variety.
f. Caterer
  • Robert J Events and Catering in Akron.
g. Cake/Dessert
  • We had sheet cakes from Costco to cut and serve. Our wedding cake was done by Callie Catherine Cakes in Cleveland. She's awesome and her cakes are delicious, again we had pressed flowers for cake decor and had a custom figurine of our dog on the base of the cake. We also had the Pav's ice cream truck at our wedding. Nate and I had a lot of date nights at Pav's on Front Street so having them at our wedding seemed like a must. They were able to expand their travel radius for us and were super friendly. We had a lot of feedback from our guests saying how much they enjoyed the ice cream truck.
h. Venue
  • Happy Days Lodge in CVNP
i. Officiant
  • Kelsey Lichttenegger, the groom's sister
j. DJ
  • Spotify playlist, I put my brother in charge of that.
k. Other
  • TL Worldwide Transportation in Akron for guest shuttles. So friendly and helpful
  • Courtyard Akron Stow for Hotels. Again, friendly and accommodating, they even had a complimentary shuttle.
  • The Knot - wedding website and invitations

1. Looking back on your wedding day, what is one moment that makes you smile?
I am really glad Nate and I did a first look. It gave us some time to quietly be together in each other's company and laugh with each other before the ceremony.
Nate said us running through the field behind Happy Days and getting those pictures makes him smile.

2. What was a moment that made you laugh?
After the ceremony, I didn't know if we were supposed to walk out or run out. In my head, I thought the thing to do was run out but I did not communicate this to Nate so he was walking and I'm just kind of pulling him and trying to run.
Nate laughs thinking about my nephews drinking an unlimited amount of Shirley Temples at the reception.

3. Do you have a favorite moment from that day?
Walking down the aisle and seeing Nate's smiling face with tears in his eyes. I also love that we were able to get a picture of us and all of our wedding guests.
Nate's favorite moment was saying our vows then eating ice cream at the Pav's truck together.

4. If you had to plan your wedding again, what would you 100% include again?
Photographer, ice cream truck and alcohol. We love looking at our wedding photos and being able to say we had an ice cream truck at our wedding.

5. Any wedding planning tips for future couples?
Do a first look.

6. Anything else you would like to be mentioned in the blog post?
We wanted our day to have little touches that were meaningful to us, like using postcards from National Parks we had been to as table numbers, our dog figurine on the cake, the ice cream truck. Involving family, friends, and local vendors made the day feel more personal and gave guests a peak at the journey that got us to that day.
